Haritu my dad came to visit me at my uni in KL (datang dari Borneo), and as an anak bapak, naturally aku akan complain banyak gila kat dia. Faculty jauh nak jalan kaki lah, my friends buat benda yang aku tak suka lah, even my love life problems pun aku bagitau dia (tapi taklah sikit2 nak mengadu, benda serious je).
And then haritu aku bagitau lah betapa manusia ni suka ambil kesempatan terhadap org lain. Tak malu ke? Percuma aku kena ceramah weh.
But he said something that I would like to share to all of you. Betapa manusia ni terpedaya dengan syaitan.
“Did you know that helping people is the core of worldly happiness? And that is also the purpose of living. Rasulullah bagitau sesungguhnya manusia yang paling baik adalah manusia yang memberi manfaat kepada manusia lain. Your whole life, you should spend it by benefiting others, kecuali waktu ibadah khusus. Waktu tu, be as selfish as you want. Ya Allah, berikanlah aku kesihatan yang baik, ya Allah, berikanlah aku kekayaan, ya Allah, berikanlah aku ilmu pengetahuan. Sepatutnya, you feel happy that people asked for help from you and not from anyone else. Masalahnya sekarang banyak manusia terpedaya dengan tipu daya syaitan that you can only be happy by having things that you want, for example money, big houses, and not sharing it with anyone else. Tamak. You don’t believe me kan? Tell me one thing that you want most right now.”
“I want a car.”
“And what will you do with the car?”
“Bawak my friends jalan2?”
“See? Let’s say I give you the car but you have no friends nak bawak jalan2, will you be happy? No right? Another example is that a person yang bergaji besar. It is true that he wants to be someone yang bergaji besar but then what will he do with his money? Belanja org makan lah, belanja anak buah dia lah, belanja isteri. He is subconsciously making himself happy by making other people happy, by serving others. But yet many people didn’t realise that. Until it’s too late. Betapa bodohnya manusia tidak sedarkan diri kerana ditipu syaitan.”

I hope by sharing this with others, akan panjangkan pahala daddy. It’s not the exact words that he said tapi maksudnya lebih kurang macam tu lah.
