First off, let me tell a little bit about myself. I’m a student from a university in pahang, I’m not going to mention which one. I’m 21 years old and currently pursuing my Bachelors degree with Honours in Accounting. I have big dreams and ambitions to achieve by doing good for others and also for myself.
What I’m about to confess is concerning a large number of students in my university and the other universities in Malaysia.
Firstly like myself, my peers they also have big ambitions and dreams. But the problem I have when they say this is that they don’t really mean it when they say this. Why I say this? It’s because they don’t put in the effort and hard work required to achieve what they’re chasing. Imagine yourself being in my shoes. Imagine yourself waking up early in the morning to get ready for the day and your peers or in my case, housemates, wake up 10 minutes before class starts. So how do you think that impacts me?
For example, if class starts at 8 a.m. and your bunk mate wakes up at 7.90 a.m. to get ready. Don’t you think you’ll be late ? This is negative energy , to be starting the day being mad because you can’t be on schedule for your own day due to the fact that someone else is screwing it up for you.
Another thing is, when they complain about not achieving the same outcome as me. All they do is complain and it bleeds my ears to be hearing the same thing over and over again rather than to be improving on themselves. Not being a showoff or anything, but I work hard for what I want and sometimes you have to sacrifice things. Most of all sleep.
The people around me or usually what people call “friends”, whenever the chance to sleep presents itself, they’ll sleep for a long period of time. Rather than studying or reading up or doing anything productive they choose the one thing that’ll hold them back. That is one of the diseases of our youths nowadays. Its toxic to say the least.
I mean there are some that are good and of calibre. But can and should we only depend on them? Each and every single one of us should be held responsible to be leading this country into a better place. If not, just do something that will benefit mankind or just do something that will impact the lives of others.
Besides the ones mentioned above, these rich, spoiled brats studying here, they really take things for granted. Not going to class at all, playing games 24/7, going on dates with their partners and so on. My roommate, his father is Dato’. At first I thought ‘wow this kid must be something’, but as years passed by I saw him for who he really was. A no good, sloth, time waster. Living off his fathers wealth and being useless to everyone. He acts like a kid, if I advise him to go study, he’ll be all moody and its like he’s on his period or something. This bugs the hell out of me.
Its okay to play games, have a gf and such but you have to balance it with your studies. Remember that you come to university to study. That is the most important thing. Dont be complacent about what you have, keep pushing and keep striving.
Another thing is, these people around me. They’re puss*** cause when I tell them the truth about themselves, they’ll reject it and they’ll deny. Being the cavemen that they are, sure enough they won’t admit their flaws and try to improve. Instead they’ll argue and defend themselves like they’re the only ones right about everything.
Im beat. Thats it for today! Thanks
Yours truly MHM
